2017 AUSTRALIA-CANADA ECONOMIC LEADERSHIP FORUM

The 5th Australia-Canada Economic Leadership Forum, held in Sydney, 20-22 February 2017 was a tremendous success. The premier leadership dialogue between Australia and Canada, brought together leaders from the private and public sectors to discuss trade, economic issues, and the political priorities of both countries.

The 2017 Forum was a high-level event, limited to 150 participants on an invitational basis.  Highly interactive, it focused on a variety of themes and subject matter that made for timely and productive discussions.

The 2017 Forum Co-Chairs Norman Steinberg and Jennifer Westacott, along with the Organising Committee, were delighted with the strong participation from both Australia and Canada and would like to express sincere appreciation to all who attended.

The Forum is a non-profit, self-funded organisation. An essential part of this Forum’s success was due to the generous support and engagement of our sponsors. We are grateful to our presenting sponsor, PwC, and thank all our sponsors, whose support is testimony to the rapidly expanding business relationships and investment opportunities between Australia and Canada.

Attached, please find a report from the Forum Rapporteurs who summarized the discussions held at the 2017 Forum and highlighted the many areas of shared interests and cooperation between Australia and Canada.
